Mental Health & Counseling Services
We recognize that the challenges in our lives may lead to isolation, anxiety, depression, and other health problems, especially in the LGBTQI population. It sometimes takes focused and knowledgeable professionals to assist in the recover process.
The Center LB desires to assist people to enhance their relationships, improve healthy communication, decrease violence, address substance abuse, improve self-esteem and provide for a greater sense of safety and well being in their lives. As a result it created a Mental Health & Counseling Services Program in February 2009

Intake/How to Begin
An intake session is required where you will meet with a counselor who will assist you in determining the best course to take based on the issues you wish to address. To set this up you can do one of two things:
Call (562) 434-4455 ext. 237 to set up an intake appointment. OR you can walk in and fill out a confidential form that will be submitted to the program supervisor and you will be contacted as soon as is possible.
INTAKE takes about 30 minutes and costs $15 per person. You will be assigned a regular Counselor, schedule a first visit, establish your fee, and be informed of policies regarding your rights as a client. Most clients are scheduled to begin seeing a regular Counselor within seven days of the Intake.
Fees
These services exists at a lower-than-customary cost and fees are determined by the ability of clients to pay. Fees are established at the time of the intake and specific individual situations are taken into consideration.
The Counseling Center does not receive any grants to supplement fees to clients, but we maintain a policy to turn no one away for lack of ability to pay.
