Center Launches Free Wedding Directory

Posted in: Uncategorized

Long Beach, California- The LGBTQ Center of Long Beach (The Center) is proud to launch the first local marriage equality wedding directory through their website (  Sponsored by Dave Schneider Fine Jewelry and Diamonds, this free online directory is the first in Long Beach to highlight local LGBTQ-friendly wedding vendors since The Supreme Court of the United States effectively ruled against Proposition 8 and the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA).

The online directory features a number of wedding related businesses that couples traditionally rely on when preparing for a wedding including caterers, venues, florists, jewelers, officiants and event planners. The Center will continue to add to the directory as more local LGBTQ-friendly businesses in the community are identified.

“We are incredibly excited to continue supporting loving and committed couples in our community with the launch of our wedding directory” said Ron Sylvester, President and Chairman of The Center. “Our main goal is to act as a resource to connect LGBTQ engaged couples with allied business in our community.”

The directory is a result of feedback from dozens of couples at the organization’s hugely successful marriage equality victory reception held at The Grand Event Center.  The Center feels the site is the perfect extension of their outreach efforts post-Supreme Court rulings.

The directory will have a permanent place on The Center’s website and will be updated as new businesses express interest in being listed. The Center is able to offer this directory at no cost as a result of generous support provided by Dave Schneider Fine Jewelry and Diamonds.

Businesses interested in being listed on the free directory are encouraged to contact The Center’s Administrative Director Porter Gilberg at (562) 434-4455. Visit the wedding directory
