QFilms Free Movie on the Beach “Hairspray”

Join The LGBTQ Center of Long Beach and Alfredo’s Beach Club for a very special screening of the John Water’s 1988 classic Hairspray! Kicking off the Long Beach QFilm Festival which runs September 8-11, this FREE screening will feature a sneak peak at the full festival lineup.
Relish in all the magic of Tracy Turnblad (Ricki Lake) living her dream of becoming a regular on the Corny Collins Dance Show in 1963! Featuring Divine, Sonny Bono, Debbie Harry, and Jerry Stiller, and more! This one is really camp at its finest.
Our friends at Alfredo’s Beach Club will have their fabulous concession stand open for dinner and snacks. We’ll also be joined before the film by special guests from South Coast Chorale who will be singing songs from the musical. Bring a blaket, low beach chair, and your campy 1963 dreams to this very special screening. Plenty of FREE parking!
Come early to hang out with us! Alfredo’s will start rolling the film at sunset!
