The Orlando Project: Let Your Voice Be Heard

August 30, 2016 @ 11:00 am - 1:00 pm UTC-8

Join us for the Orland Project’s first meeting. Participants will all get chance to meet and introduce themselves and discuss how the workshop will operate. The intention is for everyone to have a great time creating something that will touch, move and inspire you and those who hear and read your words.

About the Orlando Project:
The Orlando Project is a writing and Spoken Word performance workshop co-sponsored by The Center. The intention of the workshop is to meet weekly on Tuesdays beginning August 30th for a 6 week writing/performance process.

The writing process will be guided through a series of writing exercises. There will be four performances on two Consecutive Fridays and Saturdays. A video record will be made of each performance and posted to You Tube, Face Book, etc.
The written pieces will be published as an on-line collection of poetry.

During the writing process:
Participants will be given the opportunity to establish the subjects to be addressed. Examples would be the issues of; violence against the LGBT community, gun control, the importance of gay bars, ways in which healing can be found, and what the next step might be to galvanize a shaken community, etc. Each participant will be given the opportunity to write during the classroom sessions at the end to performed for a general audience.
