T.W.I.G.s Wrench Nights
Trans, Women, Intersex, and Gender-non-conforming Wrench Nights meets the 2nd Tuesday of every month at The Center from 6:30-9pm. This time is reserved to host practical bike safety & mechanics lessons that can be performed with basic tools at home or even on-the-road. The power of knowing bike mechanics is infinite!
Topic: Learn about the drive train system.
From your shift levers, cables, housing, chain, cassette, cranks and derailleurs. We will cover basic repairs that can be done at home or on the road, how to winterize your bike and learn how to most effectively shift and use your gears.
Doors open at 6:15 & class starts at 6:30 sharp
No experience necessary. This is a free workshop.
Rio (jill contreras) has been an avid cyclist since 2002. They have taught bike mechanics to over 7,000 people of all ages and in spanish as well. Rio has been on over 5,000 miles of bike touring often being the main mechanic on the trips. Their bike mechanics skills have been learned through experience and learning from other amazing mechanics. Rio’s mechanics skills are focused on what can be done feasibly and easily at home and how to prevent major issues.
