The hottest ticketed charity event in Long Beach returns with elegance, sophistication and entertainment to celebrate the achievements of the LGBTQ community of greater Long Beach. The event will be held at the Long Beach Convention and Entertainment Center and will involve a cocktail reception, dinner, a live and silent auction, dance party, and a program of entertainment and recognition of notable LGBTQ locals.
The Center’s biggest annual fundraiser introduces a theme for the first time, Wonderland. Attire for the ball is traditional black and white but attendees are encouraged to boldly bling up their outfits to capture the spirit of wonderland, a feeling of surprise caused by something beautiful, unexpected, or inexplicable.
All proceeds from the Black & White Ball will support the many programs and services of The Center, the largest publicly supported LGBTQ direct services organization in greater Long Beach, which supports more than 25,000 clients per year.
Five awards will be presented at this year’s event:
Ellen Ward Leadership Award – Dr. Alex (Alexi) Washington
Business Icon Award – Lola’s Mexican Cuisine, Owners Brenda Rivera and Luis Navarro
Political Icon Award – Tim Patton
Community Icon Award – South Coast Chorale
